Wipro's Talent Transformation group will conduct a 5-day 'faculty empowerment workshop' called Mission 10x in SVIT from 20th to 24th of December, 2010.
The participants for the programme will be faculty from 4 - Engg colleges in Hyderabad. The faculty nominated for the workshop are experienced teachers in their discipline.
The Mission 10x program was started by Mr Azim Premji , founder WIPRO with an objective of promoting excellence in teaching. The program will indirectly benefit students and is aimed at increasing their 'employability' ten-fold (10x).
The program does NOT teach 'technology' to the teachers BUT introduces 'delivery methodologies' of course content.
These methodologies are based on the outcome of studies made on psychology of learning.
Teachers attending the workshop will have the benefit of interacting online with other teachers in their field and share experiences of teaching methodologies.
WIPRO aims at creating and nurturing a teaching community that believes in excellence.
WIPRO is conducting this programme 'free of cost'.
The indirect benefit to an IT company such as WIPRO is...a well trained teacher will produce a well trained engineer who is 'readily employable' in the industry.
A readily employable engineer 'reduces' training costs to the company.
