Farewell to 2007 by 2008,09 Batches

Dear Students,

Yesterday, you gave us a treat that we would cherish all our life.

It was a first in many ways. It was the first farewell organised by ECE Dept students. Perhaps it was the best - as commented by the fortunate few who could see it from start to finish (sigh.. All good things must come to an end).

The students too were given their first shock of their life (perhaps) when they saw their ego-pricking, cell-phone snatching, brain-draining, nerve-wracking, normally moody, normally caustic, normally academic, normally demonic, normally nastychers :)...turn out to be a step ahead (literally) but in tune with the general mood of the day...as it always should be.....when you are on the lighter side of life.

We too can shake a leg when it comes to that !...and that is only the tip of the iceberg.

The most significant thing about the setting was that it generated wonderfully positive vibes across all cross sections of the college.

We need to protect this talent and nurture it carefully.....without trivialising the seriousness of academic pursuits.

We have designed a proctorial system for our department which needs to take off if we have to balance our pursuits without sacrificing the academic goals to individual interests.

Needless to say, life is a tricky balancing act. It throws up tempting options at every nook and corner in our journey of life...and only those, who have the wisdom to castaway tempting options for the more important ones, will move ahead.

What you have showcased today was your natural talent and exuberance. That talent is essential to live life to it fullest. We sincerely hope and pray that you will continue to regale us with your talent and also help us, teachers, who are putting their efforts to make each one of you a true professional and bring happiness and cheer in your family. As faculty, you have seen today that the entire department is open to take care of your dreams. These can be fulfilled if you act with an understanding of the administrative obligations and regulatory constraints that any system has to work with.
